Port Blair, Apr 10: On 03/04/2019 at about 1200 hrs one travel agent namely Ravi R/o Haddo informed over phone to SI Gaurav Banerjee of PS Baratang that one of his tourist namely Mr. Souvik Ghosh S/o Mr. Ajit Ghosh R/o Dangapara Road, Khardah, Rahara North 24 Paraganas, West Bengal lost his bag containing cash about Rs. 22,000/- and other materials somewhere at Baratang Island.
Acting swiftly a team comprising of SI Gaurav Banerjee, SI P R Pradeep, HC/983 A Raja, PC/2775 Benita Grace, PC/1523 Mansoor Ahmed and HG/776 Narshim Murthy was constituted. The said team managed to found one purple colour bag on 04/04/2019 near lime stone cave. On checking cash Rs. 22,500/- was found in the bag alongwith other items.
Accordingly, the above tourist was contacted over phone and cash Rs. 22,500/- alongwith bag was handed over to him in the presence of independent witnesses under cover of handing over memo.
The entire search operation was conducted under the command of SI Devanand Pathak, SHO PS Baratang under the overall supervision of SDPO (Rangat).
