Shastri Youth Club Organizes Day and Night Knockout Foot Ball Tournament at Campbell bay
Port Blair, May 08: A Day and Night Knockout Foot Ball Tournament was organized by Shastri Youth Club, Shastri Nagar 35 KM, affiliated Youth Club of Nehru Yuva Kendra, Campbell bay at Mini Stadium, Campbell Bay from 5th May 9th May 2019. In this Tournament total 10 teams have participated.
First time in the History of Campbell Bay a Day and Night Foot Ball Tournament was organized.
“Ours aims is to popularize such rural sports and propagate the message of healthy body & healthy mind among the youth that finally provide platform to youth which can be utilized to select talented youth for their further nurturing into excellence in different level of sports” said Youth Coordinator, NYK.
On the Inaugural occasion, Smt. Lalita Tigga, I/c Assistant Commissioner, Campbell bay and Block Development Officer was the Chief Guest and she inaugurated the tournament on 5th May, 2019 by lighting the Traditional Lamp.
In the inaugral ceromany National anthem was sung by all the participants and audience. Dr. Ambedker, Veterinary Dept., Mr. Lokesh Kumar, Principal, GSSS Campbell Bay and Mr. Ashok Mallick, Assistant Engineer, Electricity Dept. were also present to grace the occasion.
The Chief Guest also addressed the youth about the importance of sports for the development of youth and said participating in sports always provides opportunity to exhibit their talent. The tournament is coordinated by Mr. M. Shanker, President of Shastri Youth Club.
The Stadium was decorated with lights and huge gathering was present to witness the event which was also a great attraction of the game.
In the Programme youth are also aware about importance of Swachchta is valuable for our day to day life and why we keep our place neat and tidy. The Final Match will be played tomorrow, on 9th May 2019 and Winner and Runner-up will be awarded Trophy and certificate, in a communiqué District Youth Coordinator, NYK, Campbell Bay said.
