Vibrant Start to 20th Anniversary Celebrations of Crescent Public School

Port Blair, Sept 07: Crescent Public School, Wimberly Gunj which is celebrating its 20th Anniversary year (1999-2019) organized its inaugural session on 4th September at GSSS- Wmberly Gunj with great zest and enthusiasm.

The Chief Guest Mrs. Neha Bansal, IAS, Secretary (Art& Culture- A&N Administration) was superlative in her appreciation of the students, teachers and management for classic presentation of programmes. She stated that she felt highly honoured and elated to have witnessed the Inaugural session of 20th year celebrations of Crescent Public School. She lauded the vision and relentless hard work done by students and their mentors for presenting such a message oriented programme. She mentioned that these islands are united in true sense and the children of these islands can bring the change we all dream of. The Chief Guest also said that the CPS management is giving the right values which are needed to build a nation.

After unveiling the 20th year celebration logo by the Chief Guest, Crescent Anthem written and composed by globally acclaimed Urdu Poet and Writer Mr. Azeez Belgaumi was beautifully rendered by the students of the school.

Earlier, welcoming the chief guest, dignitaries and the gathering, Mr. M K Mohammed, Secretary, Islamic Welfare Society explained in detail the objective behind the inception of the school in 1999. He further said that Crescent Public School as a non-profit institution has been rendering yeomen service providing access to quality education and imbibing moral values and civic sense among the students without burdening them with excessive fees. He also recalled the achievements of the School in both academic and co- curricular activities. He specially lauded the team of Crescent for bring 100% results in Class XII examinations.

Mr. V Ranjith Kumar, Asst Director (Sports), who was the guest of honour felicitated students who excelled in both academics and sports activities. The toppers of Class XII and Class X in CBSE Examinations were also felicitated on the occasion. On behalf of the CPS management, a memento was awarded to Master Faheem and Miss. Shaina for their academic excellence for the year 2017-18 in class 10th and 12th respectively. An All Rounder Champions Trophy was awarded to Master Githin Raj of Class 7th for his outstanding performances in football, badminton and volleyball.

Mr. V Ranjith Kumar also announced prizes for two outstanding students in the academic session 2018-19.

The students showcased vibrant and colourful cultural extravaganza based on the theme of Unity in diversity. The folk dances of India included a classical dance, Ghoomer, ChotaNagpuri Folk Dance, Bangla loknritya and Oppana. It was mesmerizing to watch the tiny tots of class UKG dance on the beats of the RTE Anthem ‘School chalen hum.’ The strength and valor of youth in building a strong nation was presented through an acrobatic formation act. The responsibility of parents, wastage of water and the plight of farmers in our country was well depicted through a mime performance.
