MP calls upon new CCS management to streamline the LPG distribution system

Port Blair, June 16: The Member of Parliament, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma today held a meeting with the new management of Consumer Cooperative Society Ltd at the MP Office. He said that in the past a lot of complaints have been received about CCS not being able to provide LPG refills to consumers on time and called up the new CCS management to streamline the LPG distribution system so that consumers do not face difficulties in getting LPG refills. He said that the CCS Ltd should develop a robust system of LPG distribution and provide timely services to the customers. Mr. Sharma also directed the members of the new CCS management to initiate measures for modernization, augmenting of services and improving performances as poor policies and performance, mis-management and corruption has led to CCS decline in the islands.  At a time when many supermarkets have come up in the private sector selling a range of products, including ration items, the CCS can stay in the market only by offering good products and excellent services at reasonable prices, he said. The Chairman, Secretary and other directors of the CCS Ltd were present. Mr. K Ganeshan and Mr. Mohemmed Zubair were given the responsibility of monitoring the functioning of the CCS Ltd. The CCS is struggling to survive due to mis-management and poor services. Many of the CCS stores in the islands have to be closed down due to loss in business. Once doing remarkably well, the CCS business suffered heavy loss due to mis-management as a result of which many of the stores had to be shut down.
