PBMC spreads awareness about livelihood enhancement opportunities among SHGs

 

Port Blair, Jan 04: Port Blair Municipal Council organised a meeting for Self Help Groups formed under DAY-NULM at Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Auditorium on the 4th January, 2021. The purpose of the meeting was to acquaint SHG members with the various livelihood enhancement opportunities.

Smti. Anjali Sehrawat, IAS, Secretary, PBMC graced the occasion and motivated the SHG members. She encouraged them to take up skill training courses offered under DAY-NULM scheme to become Aatma Nirbhar. She elaborated on the various possibilities which can help stakeholders improve their economic situation by engaging in economically remunerative activities.

The meeting was attended by over 100 office bearers of the 61 Self Help Groups formed in Port Blair. The meeting received overwhelming response from the members who actively participated in the discussion and exhibited their willingness to take up the various trainings for enhancing their  livelihood.

It is pertinent to mention that PBMC formed 65 SHGs. Out of which 61 SHGs are women SHGs.
