Port Blair, May 04: It is brought to the notice of the general public that the sudden rise of 5-6 MW power demand in Port Blair and South Andaman is experienced due to hot and humid weather conditions and thereby injudicious use of power. As a result, the department is forced to exercise load shedding of 45 Minutes to 1 Hour on a rotational basis.
To bail out from the present situation, it is appealed to all general public, commercial establishments, Govt. establishments and hoteliers to judiciously use the power. In addition, all commercial establishments should switch off their ACs, Hoteliers should operate on their DG sets and Industrial units should close their operation from 1700 Hrs to 2300 Hrs. during Peak Hours and extend their cooperation to the department.
