Port Blair, May 10: Aditya Natya Academy, a theatre group in A&N Islands organized a cultural programme on the occasion of the 162nd Birth Anniversary of “Viswakabi Rabindranath Thakur” on 09th May 2022 at Middle Point, Port Blair with the title ‘Mahamanober Sagorotire’.
The programme started with the garlanding of Rabindranath’s portrait by Mr. A. Karmakar, President, ANA. A pair of songs and poetry recitals, Rabindra sangeets presented by Kaveri Debsharma, Sampa Sarkar, and Arup Kumar Roy and Nandalal Debsharma.
Ms. Aditi Singh, Nandini Chatterjee, and Hangshewari Biswas presented a dance performance on Rabindra sangeets. Anadiranjan Biswas, a member of Sahitya Academy, New Delhi highlighted the great works, creativeness, and Biography of the poet.
The programme was conducted by Mr. A.R. Bhattacherjee, General Secretary, and Mr. A. Karmakar, President, ANA proposed a Vote of Thanks.
