DC SA cautions criminal action against unlawful activities of unregistered groups

Port Blair, June 18: In a recent press release, regarding submission of details of society/ Association/ Youth Club/NGOs/Temple Committee /Mahila Mondal/Church /Mosque/ School registered in the South Andaman District under the Society Registration Act 1860, were directed to submit the following details to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner by 10th July 2021.

  1. Annual Audit reports.
  2. Details of PAN of the Society.
  3. Bank Account No. of the Society.
  4. Aadhar No of office bearers.
  5. Contact details including Phone No. and e-mail ID of the society as well as office bearers.

Here it is further submitted that it has come to the notice of the District Administration that many NGOs/Societies are not yet registered, but functioning in the District unlawfully. Stern warning is hereby given to all such organisations to refrain from such activities and if anyone is found involved in such unlawful activities, criminal action as per relevant laws shall be initiated against the such individuals/organisations.

Further, it is also informed that all societies registered with Deputy Commissioner (South Andaman) Office should mandatorily enrol the society in the NGO portal at https://www.ngoportal.org created by GOI and submit a confirmation to this effect within 30 days.

Non-compliance may result in strict action against the NGOs/Societies as per the law.
