Port Blair, Nov 17: A weather bulletin has been received from IMD, Port Blair at 1500 hrs on today that, a Low-pressure area formed over Southeast Bay of Bengal & adjoining Andaman Sea in the morning of today, the 17th November, 2022. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and gradually concentrate into a Depression over central parts of South Bay of Bengal around 19th November, 2022. Thereafter, it is likely to move west-north westwards towards Tamil Nadu Puducherry and south Andhra Pradesh coasts during subsequent 3 days.
In this regard, following warnings have been issued by the IMD :
Warnings:
(I) Rainfall: Light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy falls at isolated places is very likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands on 17th November.
(ii) Wind warning:1. Squally weather with wind speed reaching 40-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph is likely to prevail over Andaman Sea & adjoining Southeast & East Central Bay of Bengal On 17th; over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of Andaman Sea, Southwest & Central Bay of Bengal on 18th Nov, 2022
(iii) Sea condition: 1. Sea condition will be rough over Andaman Sea & adjoining Southeast & East Central Bay of Bengal on 17th and over Southeast Bay of Bengal and dining areas of Andaman Sea, Southwest & Central Bay of Bengal on 18th Nov, 2022.
(iv) Fishermen Warning (warning graphics enclosed) Fishermen are advised not to venture into:
