Team of A&N Police, Fire Department and PBMC rescue Cow from septic tank

Port Blair, May 04: In an operation requiring all the delicacy of a surgical procedure, the team including A&N Police, Fire Department, and the Sanitary Mazdoors from PBMC, including some of the youths of Ward No. 06 succeeded in rescuing a cow, after it fell into a septic tank on 03rd May 2022 at DAG Colony, Ward No.06.

            The alert was sounded at around 8 p.m. after a call received from the surrounding inhabitants. Swift action was initiated by the councillor, communicating with the teams, and was called for the rescue operation.

            The rescue team arrived first at the scene and started the operation for rescuing the cow from the septic tank. After hours of struggle the cow was evacuated from the tank using a belt tied over its body with the help of a sanitary mazdoor, PBMC namely Mr. Karthick who stepped into the tank wholeheartedly and evacuated the cow with the help of the team present there on the spot.

            Mr. Azizur Rahman Senior, Vice-Chairperson and Councillor of Ward No. 06, PBMC expressed his gratitude towards the Aberdeen Police team, Fire Department, Sanitary Officer, PBMC and the Executive Engineer (E&M), PBMC.

            The cow had fallen into the septic tank which left the team with the challenge of lifting the cow through a small septic tank which took about 2½ hours of operation. The veterinary team on hand affirmed that the cow had escaped injury.
