CPI (M) Organises Public Meeting at Wimberlygunj

Port Blair, Apr 03: CPI (M) organised a public meeting at Wimberlygunj junction as part of  the  election campaign  in favor of its candidate  on  2nd April, 2024 evening. Addressing the gathering Dr Vijoo Krishnan, CPI (M) Central Secretariat Member, who is currently on a visit to these islands, said that the guarantees of the Modi-government are hollow and cannot be believed by the people.  He briefly explained each of the promises made by Narendra Modi and BJP during the Parliament Elections in 2014 and 2019 and said that none of the promises made by the BJP has been fulfilled. Addressing the public meeting, CPI (M) State Secretary and CPI (M) candidate D. Ayyappan criticized the BJP and Congress for the burning issues faced by the islanders and said that both the parties have failed to fulfill the aspirations of the people. He assured the people that if CPI (M) candidate is elected from the islands, the party will strenuously strive to provide the required relief to the islanders.   

            Addressing the public meeting, B. Chandrachoodan, CPI (M) State Secretariat said that it was due to the struggle conducted by the CITU that nearly ten thousand daily rated workers got the financial benefit of 1/30th of pay plus DA. CITU will continue to fight for the regularization of the daily rated, contract and outsourced workers.   

            D. Laxman Rao, State Secretariat Member of the CPI (M) while addressing the public meeting criticized the BJP government at the centre for not fulfilling its promise of constructing Bambooflat-Chatham Bridge. CPI (M) State Organising Committee Member D. Hemlatha and Mohanan Pillai and S. Chidambaram also addressed the meeting while SP Kalairajan, SOC member was also present on the occasion.
