Port Blair, Apr 25: Mr. Naresh Bala, Kadamtala Panchayat Samiti Member, Middle Andaman requested the Director, DSS for connecting ferry services from Long Island to Uttara Jetty and Kadamtala during Port Blair to Rangat sailing schedules.
In a letter addressed to the Director of Shipping Services, Mr. Bala mentioned that the passengers bound to Kadamtala from Swaraj Dweep and Shaheed Dweep are facing difficulty in transportation due to the non-availability of desired ferry connection to Uttara Jetty.
He said that the passengers have to travel 60 km by bus from Rangat Bay to reach Kadamtala, which makes it difficult and time-consuming for the travelers.
Mr. Bala mentioned that the inhabitants of Shaheed Dweep, Swaraj Dweep, Kadamtala and Uttara need frequent communication. Therefore, he requested to provide a ferry connection between these ports on a regular basis.
