Port Blair, Apr 25: Keeping a vigil on the present situation of power cuts in Port Blair and several rural areas of South Andaman, Social Worker Mr. Saurav Nair has written a letter to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration expressing grave concern over frequent power cuts occurring from past several weeks.
In the letter, Mr. Nair stated that it is a matter of great concern that the people of the A&N Islands are facing a crisis of electricity in this season of scorching heat.
He said that such worst unscheduled and prolonged cuts in power supply during the holy month of Ramzan have left many peoples distraught.
“Unscheduled power cuts amid peak tourist season are causing immense problems to tourists and tour operators. This is a clear sign of an irresponsible approach on behalf of the authorities concerned” added Mr. Nair.
