I extend my warm felicitations to all the teachers on the occasion of Teachers Day. Teachers play a vital role in shaping and molding the future of our children, and are of paramount importance to them. Teachers serve the society by instructing and guiding countless students through different stages of their growth and thereby prepare them to take on the world which they are a part of.

Teachers’ Day is celebrated in honour of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, India’s second President who was born on 5th September, 1888. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had famously said about Dr. S. Radhakrishnan: “He has served his country in many capacities. But above all, he is great teacher from whom all of us have learnt much and will continue to learn. It is India’s peculiar privilege to have a great philosopher, a great educationist and a great humanist as President”.

Let the teaching fraternity derive lessons from his life and work and rededicate themselves towards building a vibrant India known for its educational strength and human resources. I look forward to greater professionalism, commitment and dedication among the teaching community and extend my warm greetings to all members of the teaching fraternity of A&N Islands.
