MP requests Prime Minister of India to make NCC compulsory in India in college level

Port Blair, Apr 27: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India to make NCC compulsory in India in college level so that youths develop a sense of Duty, Commitment, Dedication, Discipline, Moral Values and love for mother India at college level.

In a letter addressed to the Hon’ble Prime Minister, the Member of Parliament, who is also Member of Central Advisory Committee, National Cadet Corps (NCC)  mentioned that National Cadet Corps (NCC) is immensely popular in our nation as it provides opportunities to the youth of the country for their all-round development and NCC also teaches moral values so that they become able leaders and responsible citizens.

NCC is one of the foremost organizations which groom the youths, the students to be worthy citizens and future leaders of our nations and further it instills in students discipline, courage, and patriotism, Shri Sharma mentioned.

He added that Looking at the importance of NCC and how it builds up courage, passion, team spirit, leadership & most importantly a healthy mind-set to face hardships among students, some countries have made NCC mandatory at various levels.

He pointed out that NCC not only guides youths to a correct path but also produces future leaders of our nation. No doubt a large number of NCC cadets join Uniform Forces every year.

Other than this, NCC cadets develop a sense of Duty, Commitment, Dedication, Discipline and Moral Values very fast.  NCC also keeps cadets physically and mentally fit.

He said, National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organization, comprising the Army, Navy and Air Wing and is the largest uniformed youth organization. Its motto is ‘Unity and Discipline’. In living up to its motto, the NCC strives to be and is one of the greatest cohesive forces of the nation, bringing together the youth hailing from different parts of the country and moulding them into united, secular and disciplined citizens of the nation.
