A Social and Cultural organizationChetna releases its magazine ‘Chetna Darpan’at TGCE

Port Blair, May 09: In connection of celebrating the 75th anniversary of Independence as ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, the social and cultural organization Chetna released a magazine ‘Chetna Darpan’ on 08th May 2022 at TGCE Auditorium. A cultural programme was also organized in which patriotic songs and dances were presented.

            Mrs. Shakuntala Shivram was the chief guest in the programme and Mrs. Kavita Uday Kumar, Chairperson, PBMC presided over the programme.

            After the first welcome song, Dr. Manju Nair, President, Chetna welcomed the Chief Guest, the President of the programme and all the honoured guests. Later, the Rizwan Musical Group presented patriotic programmes, songs and dances at the function.

            Mrs. Shakuntala Shivaram expressed her gratitude towards the institution and said that in Chetna Darpan magazine, all the topics related to the history of the A&N Islands are adjusted very well. She said that our Islands are preserving social and cultural harmony in their true sense.

            Mrs. Kavita Uday Kumar expressed her gratitude to the organization and said that our Islands are adorned with amazing natural beauty and it should be our endeavour to keep these Islands clean and green. She said that it is expected that Chetna will take significant steps to keep the Islands clean and continue the social and cultural activities.

            Mr. Bhanu Pratap Yadav, General Secretary, Chetna gave the vote of thanks to the guests. He said that there was a decline in the activities of the institution due to corona in the last two years, but the institution tried its best to organize such cultural programmes.

            He said that Chetna is firmly committed to its objectives and will strive to establish new dimensions by continuing its social and cultural work in the Islands.

            He thanked TGCE, A&N Administration, Police Department, print and digital media, guests present in the programme and all the members of Chetna for making this programme a great success.
