Crescent Public School, Wimberly Gunj Annual Sports Meet 2023-24

Port Blair, Jan 07: Crescent Public School, Wimberly Gunj, hosted it’s exhilarating Annual Sports Meet 2023-24 at the Nayapuram ground adjacent to the Indoor Stadium on 6th January 2023 at 9:00 am. The event unfolded with grandeur, witnessing an esteemed lineup of dignitaries and spirited participants.

Mrs. Sangeeta Chand, Deputy Education Officer of Wimberly Gunj, graced the inaugural session as the chief guest. In her address she commended the institution for its distinguished status as one of the finest schools in South Andaman. Notably, she highlighted the school’s exceptional accomplishments, both in academics and Co-curricular activities, acknowledging its commendable contributions to the educational landscape. Pradhan,Kanyapuram and Wimberly Gunj P Abdul Basheer, and Venkat Ram Babu adorned the occasion as esteemed guests of honor. Additionally, Dr. Sabique C, a distinguished Senior Resident Urologist at AIIMS, Odisha, and an esteemed alumnus of Crescent Public School, was a special guest, adding significance to the annual athletic meet.

The Deputy Education Officer ceremoniously hoisted the Sports Meet Flag, officially declaring the meet open amidst the presence of the school’s Management Committee members. Mr. P Abdul Rehman, Principal of CPS, extended a warm welcome to the chief guest, Management Committee members, parents, and enthusiastic students.

During the closing ceremony, Mr. PK Ummer Farooq, the Lead Bank Manager of the State Bank of India, Port Blair, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Distinguished guests joined in awarding medals and certificates to the outstanding athletes across various events. A.Rehan Ali of Sunil Chetri House and AK Hazwa Nuha of Devid Becham House were honored as Individual Champions in the boys and girls categories, respectively. The prestigious Overall Trophy was clinched by Devid Becham House, marking their outstanding performance.

Mr. PK Ummer Farooq, the Chief Guest of the closing ceremony, concluded the meet by furling the sports flag and officially declaring the event closed. Mr. N Abdul Salam, member of the Management Committee, expressed gratitude and extended a vote of thanks for the successful conduct of the Sports Meet.

This Annual Sports Meet at Crescent Public School was a testament to the school’s commitment to fostering sportsmanship, camaraderie, and excellence among its students, setting new benchmarks in the realm of sporting achievements.
