PS Rangat Dismantles Illicit Liquor Operation in the Dense Forest of Kalsi Village, Destroys 900 Litres of Lehan

Port Blair, Jan 07: In a swift and efficient operation carried out on 05/01/2024, the Rangat Police once again demonstrated their commitment to combating illegal activities by successfully confiscating a significant quantity of Lehan in the dense forest of Kalsi village.

Acting promptly on a tip, Inspector R.K Mazumder, SHO PS Rangat formed a specialized team consisting of ASI Samayamuthu, I/C OP Bakultala, HC Mohan Rao & PC  Pradeep Topno. The proactive team successfully seized a significant quantity of 900 liters of Lehan, along with containers, various utensils, and timber materials used in the production process. These materials were discreetly hidden within the jungle. Subsequently, all confiscated items were promptly destroyed, dealing a major blow to the illegal liquor manufacturing network. 

The entire operation was carried out under the vigilant supervision of Mr. Vishesh Dhatterwal, DANIPS, SDPO Rangat, and the overall direction and supervision of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District. 

The general public is requested to pass and share any credible information pertaining to any crime or illegal activities to their nearest Police Station or over phone No.100, 112 & 03192-273344. The identity of the informers will be kept secret and will also be suitably rewarded.
