Port Blair, Apr 28: Continuing its zero-tolerance policy towards encroachment on government land, the revenue department of South Andaman District carried out an eviction drive committed over Government land at Port Blair tehsil.
The encroachment eviction drive was carried out upon land bearing SY No. 1/P on 26th April 2022 and 28th April 2022 situated at Garacharma village stands recorded as Government Revenue Land.
During the drive encroachments in the shape of temporary structures utilized as residential houses upon Govt. the land was removed and an area of 1.9 hectares was restored to its original status.
It is further submitted that the encroachment eviction drive will continue in the coming weeks within the Port Blair tehsil.
